Juan Ignacio Ruiz is a corporate, commercial lawyer, with a practice in international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution cases. He regularly advises clients on the Argentine tranche of cross-border transactions, including M&A, restructurings and joint ventures. He has achieved a vast expertise in all regulatory issues and filings involved in these transactions. He is also in charge of several antitrust clearance procedures.
With respect to arbitration he has been involved in enforcement proceedings in Argentina, and he has also been related to arbitration cases, either under international institutions as the ICC or AAA, or in domestic institutions as the Tribunal of the Stock of the City of Buenos Aires or the Mediation and Arbitration Centre of the Argentine Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he teaches international commercial arbitration at the University of Buenos Aires, where he was recently appointed as one of the coaches of the team for the Willem C. Vis Moot, becoming the first Latin American university in winning the moot in its 2015/2016 edition.
His experience also comprises major financing transactions, including several pre-financing of export transactions granted by major fund operators of trade finance and pre financing of exports in Argentina, aircraft finance and infrastructure projects. He also advises some of the key players of the Argentine Oil & Gas market on specific regulatory issues within the industry and assist them, within an interdisciplinary approach, in complex corporate transactions along with their day-to-day corporate matters
